A labyrinth without light. You navigate only by echo.
TSSE is an experimental sound game in which the player awakens inside a living labyrinth — a world completely devoid of light. You cannot see anything, you have no map, no vision — only the echo of your footsteps and the vibration of the air help you survive. The labyrinth reacts to sound, and every impulse can reveal your position or open a path through the darkness.
In TSSE, everything revolves around navigation through sound waves. The player emits an acoustic pulse that reflects off the walls and creates an ephemeral map of the surrounding space. This is not a visual game, but a sensory experience — you hear the space rather than see it.
The labyrinth world is unstable. Echoes can be absorbed, distorted, or sometimes return with a delay, creating the impression that something — or someone — is answering. Each level is an experiment in sound awareness, designed to induce disorientation and tension.
The game is powered by a custom audio shader and a directional wave modulation system built in Unity, processing sound in real time and generating an acoustic representation of the surrounding space. The entire system operates through WebSocket, enabling multiple players to interact within the same sound environment.
